Tarana Annual Show on 2nd January 2010

We are set to welcome 2010 with the Annual show of 'Tarana'.

All the artists who have performed at 'Tarana' till date, are performing in this show.

Songs selected in this show are gems and marvels, as usually.

Each song has it's own flair, 'Tarana' this time presents few songs in slightly different form which will amaze everyone for sure.

Anchoring will be with some interesting anecdotes, as usually.

In short, the moment of pleasant surprise is in the offing!

A special thanks to all the artists and contributors.

Applauds also for the viewers who have been regularly attending the show which has helped Tarana grow to this level.

Tarana is luckily percolating and has started receiving media's attention that we actually never craved for! Till date that all of us have been able to perform with best of our abilities and we are honing our skills. We wish to give the best to the audience.

Many people like music but everyone associated with our group - be it a member or a participant - has got special 'ears for music' that's why we are together.

Did you know?
In 1953, Lyricist Shailendra wrote a wonderful song for film 'Patita' which was sung by Talat Mehmood

English Poet Percy Bysshe Shelley (more known as P.B. Shelley 1792-1822) wrote

“We look before and after, And pine for what is not;
Our sincerest laughter With some pain is fraught;
Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought”

Shailendra was inspired by this poem and he wrote this touchy song.

मगर कलाकारों और कद्रदानों का हौसला - क्या बात है, कहेना पड़े !
इतनी ज़ोरदार बौछारों के बावजूद हमारा यानी की हम सब का ये शो सफल रहा कद्रदानों की और कलाकारों कीवजह से |

दूरदर्शन पर कवरेज भी िमला और अखबार में भी बाकायदा एक अच्छा खासा ब्यौरा छ्पा 'तराना' के बारे में

बस येही तमन्ना और दुआ है की हमारे अपने तराना की तरक्की हो और साज़ बजते रहे, सुरीली आवाजों के साथ।

Tarana's Fourth Show is Entitled as 'Rainbow Show' as we are going to deliver songs on Rains this time। The reason behind entitling it as 'Rainbow' is - we are covering large variety of Hindi film songs in this show. A special Gujarati song written by Ramesh Parekh and composed by Janmejay Vaidya is also included in this show.

Third show was also house pack. We presented songs of five lyricists

This show was anchored by Bhavesh N. Pattni and Bijal Bhatt.

Bhavesh played Sahir's famous poem Kabhi Kabhi in the voices of Sahir Lundhiyanvi and Amitabh Bachchan. Majrooh Sultanpuri and Kaifi Azmi's voice files were also played. This was a surprise to the audience and everyone was wondering how Bhavesh could have this in his collection!

Biggest surprise of this show was, all the singers sang on Karaoke Tracks! This was an achievement indeed.

On December 24^th, 1924 Great Singer Mohmmad Rafi was born. We normally decide on the dates based on Numerology and Astrology. In 2^nd show, we presented songs of four music directors.

It was a super duper hit show with live musicians। Jay Vohra was on Tabla and Bhupendra Barot played the Key Board.

Naming the Group - Tarana

Bhavesh is very much fond of Classical Singer Ustad Amir Khan Saheb and used to listen to Taranas sung by him and Gokulotsav Maharaj very regularly. On 5^th December 2008, Bhavesh went to Sahitya Parishad to book the hall and they said 'We will need your application on official letterhead, with the name of your group'.

In five minutes Bhavesh created the letterhead with a nice logo and named the Group Tarana. Like Taranas written by Amir Khusru are highly remembered only by staunch music lovers and followers of the classical music trend, it was good to give subtitle to Tarana – Recalling the lost Music.

Eventually, Janmejaybhai Vaidya and Tarana both are born with Pisces Ascendant, hence the creative approach to the show. Another combination is, Tarana's establishment chart has Venus and Rahu in Capricorn and Bhavesh is born with this combination.

This was a small story of overture, how Tarana Started.

Tarana – तराना - हमारी याद आएगी

तराना - हमारी याद आएगी

We started 'Tarana' with the title 'Hamari Yaad Aayegi' – as if Lyricists and Music Directors of old times are telling us 'Kabhi Tanhaiyon Mein Yun, Hamari Yaad Aayegi'.

First show was in the form of an informal yet professionally designed and presented 'Baithak' at Nikhilbhai and Vibhutiben Bakshi's Bungalow in Sterling City, Bopal, Ahmedabad. It was 2^nd August 2008, Saturday.

Janmejaybhai and Bhavesh made a list of about 38 songs and presented for 4 hours and 45 min. at a stretch. It would not have been possible without 25 invitees in this show. This show was highly informal yet with proper anchoring and Rishin on Tabla. Microphones attached with the Audio System gave us a very good feel of live performance in a hall.

Next day, Bhavesh and Janmejaybhai started receiving phone calls from all the relatives that 'O we have heard that you've done a wonderful 'Baithak', we missed it, if you arrange any such show next time, kindly inform us'.

Bhavesh and Janmejaybhai discussed these feedbacks and with their respective backbones Neeta and Kaminiben, decided to have a well rehearsed show at Sahitya Parishad's hall, which was and is the cheapest yet best.

Janmejaybhai Vaidya is a wonderful composer and singer himself so he takes care of Music Part of the show and Bhavesh handles Scripting and Anchoring.
